Cadez: Let’s remove barriers if we want common market

25.02.2019

If we want a joint regional market, we must remove barriers to enable our businesspeople to feel the benefits as soon as possible, Marko Cadez, president of the Western Balkans Six Chamber Investment Forum (CIF) Managing Board, said in Podgorica Thursday.

If we want a joint regional market, we must remove barriers to enable our businesspeople to feel the benefits as soon as possible, Marko Cadez, president of the Western Balkans Six Chamber Investment Forum (CIF) Managing Board, said in Podgorica Thursday.

“If we do want one, we must go for it in a serious and committed manner, to jointly accelerate procedures, harmonise regulations, documentation and the work of the competent authorities and remove technical and political barriers, for more trade and investments,” Cadez said at the opening of the office of the CIF Secretary General at the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro.

The CIF is working daily on representing the interests of the regional business community of 350,000 companies, which helps to strengthen economic cooperation in the Western Balkans, said Cadez, who is also the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

He also highlighted the problems, obstacles and costs that need to be eliminated to ensure conditions for more successful business and to make the region a more desirable investment destination for domestic and foreign companies.

“It is important to send a message that the Western Balkans is becoming a region of success, not conflicts,” he noted.
