Berlin Process – Follow up on the Western Balkans Summit in Poznań


With the aims to take a stock of the progress and deliverables achieved within the Western Balkans Summit in Poznań and to establish a solid foundation for the upcoming joint presidency of Bulgaria and North Macedonia in the Berlin Process, a meeting of the GIZ’s Network of the Western Balkans (WB) Six Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as part of the German development cooperation, was held in Pristina on 5th of November 2019.

The participants of the meeting exchanged upon the conclusions and follow up actions of the WB Summit in Poznań with representatives of the European Commission – DG NEAR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology of Poland. Additionally, representative of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) informed the participants on the current state of play of the implementation of the Multiannual Action Plan for a Regional Economic Area (MAP REA).

The final segment of the meeting was dedicated to the initial exchange regarding the expectations and potential priorities of the 2020 joint presidency in the Berlin Process with appointed coordinators for the presidency from both host countries – Bulgaria and North Macedonia.
